Well deserved recognition for Edward J. Boyd V.
Southold Fire Department, November 14
Ex-Chief Edward J. Boyd V was feted belatedly on Wednesday evening for well deserved recognition of his tireless work and volunteering which resulted in awards from 2016 when he was both Suffolk County Fire Chiefs Council "Chief of the Year 2016" and the "Suffolk County Basic Life Support Provider of the Year 2016".

Heavy Rescue / Vehicle Extrication Exercise Training

On Thursday, July 18th, many SFD members responded to Station Two to participate in a Suffolk County sanctioned Heavy Rescue / Vehicle Extrication exercise. This challenging evolution involved nine victims and one dog in various states of entanglement in and under a mini school bus and two automobiles, including one car that was on fire. Weekly Training at SFD

Wednesday, 06/26, saw another training session at Station Too. This time the subject was vehicle extrication and TNT tool familiarization under the capable guidance of Training Officers Roslak and Catapano.
