Having just had my left knee replaced. I knew I would be in trouble climbing a ladder to replace a chirping battery in a smoke detector. I spoke to your houseman who contacted a chief for permission to assist. David ( I believe Surozenski) from Packard Hose arrived and got the detector working again. Hello there. I'm a member of Hoags Corners Fire Co. in Rensselaer County. Quite a while ago, I came across a badge marked Packard Hose Co. Southhold Fire Dept. that belonged to my grandfather. He grew up on Long Island prior to serving in the Army during WWII. Just wondering if you had any record of him as a member there. Stay safe and thanks.

Wonderful website - it was great seeing the past chiefs. I especially liked the picture of Fred and it reminded me of the time Terry Latham called him "Chico" when we went to Miami for the international Convention and in the airport he was asked if he was going to Costa Rica and he answered - "Do I look like I am going to Costa Rica?" And the airline employee answered - "yes!" We always had a good laugh over that one!
Keep up the good work and continue to add the ex-chief's photos.
