Ex-Chief Edward J. Boyd V was feted belatedly on Wednesday evening for well deserved recognition of his tireless work and volunteering which resulted in awards from 2016 when he was both Suffolk County Fire Chiefs Council "Chief of the Year 2016" and the "Suffolk County Basic Life Support Provider of the Year 2016".
Current Chief David Surozenski had this to say about ex-Chief Boyd during the presentation..."Tonight we recognize someone who has given years of dedicated service to both our department and our community.
His commitment and skill have left a lasting impact on everyone he’s worked with and served. We’re proud to finally give him this honor and thank him for being the steady presence he’s been for all of us.
We’re here to acknowledge this individual as EMS provider of the Year 2016 and Suffolk County Fire Chief of the Year 2016 a recognition that’s well-deserved and, honestly, "I believe that though it happened years ago, it is important to recognize and honor this.
Congratulations, Ex Chief Boyd."
Please join us in celebrating Ed's achievements with hearty well deserved congratulations! |
